Tree Worries

Last Friday I went to see my English Tree, in Thetford, Norfolk. This was my second spring visit and I was expecting my big oak to be bright green. However, what I found was a brown tree. In May? Yes, it got me worried. On a closer inspection I noticed that there were leaves, but they were brown…mmm. I looked around, the grass is dry too. C told me that it was hot the 4 weeks that we were away, and no rain.

So, I can only assume that my tree started leafing but dried out and decided to stop the leafing business for later, when it rains.

And we are still waiting for some proper rain. Well, not too much, just enough to get Big Oak going.

I am writing about trees as part of the Tree Year Project!
